Congratulations to St. Viator Varsity who captured the Scholastic Cup on March 6th with their victory over Barrington 1-0.

Congratulations to Deerfield Varsity who captured the Founders Cup on March 6th with their 2-1 victory over fellow Metro North competitor Loyola Maroon.

Great Job Metro North Teams!!

Metro North teams had a strong presence in State Tournament Finals.

1. Deerfield Varsity defeated Loyola Maroon 6-2 for the White Division State Championship at the Edge in Bensenville on St. Patrick's Day. 
2. Glenbrook North Varsity took 2nd place in the State Championship of the Red Division against New Trier Green at the United Center on March 13th.  GBN lost 3-2 despite a hard fought battle by both sides.

The High School National Championships are hosted this year in Illinois at the Edge in Bensenville beginning March 23, 2011.  Metro North's very own Glenbrook North Varsity as well as New Trier Green are the two teams representing Illinois this year.  Come out and help cheer them on to victory!!

1. Santa Margarita Catholic (California) vs. Glenbrook North Varsity at Edge Blackhawk on 3/23/11 at 4:00pm.
2. Northeast Storm (Ohio) vs. New Trier Green at Edge AHAI on 3/23/11 at 4:30pm.
3. Glenbrook North Varsity vs. Southlake Carroll (Texas) at the Edge AHAI 3/24/11 at 5:00pm.
4. New Trier Green vs. Plano West (Texas) at the Edge AHAI 3/24/11 at 1:00pm.
5. Glenbrook North Varsity vs. Long Beach (New York) at the Edge AHAI 3/25/11 at 4:00pm.
6. New Trier Green vs. Arlington (New York) at the Edge Blackhawk 3/25/11 at 7:00pm.
7. Glenbrook North Varsity vs. Notre Dame (AZ) at the Edge AHAI 3/26/11 at 9:00am.
8. Glenbrook North Varsity vs. New Trier Green at the Edge Blackhawk 3/26/11 at 5:30pm.  Semifinal  matchup

UPDATE   3/23/11:  Glenbrook North defeated Santa Margarita Catholic (CA) 3-2.   New Trier also won against Northeast Storm (OH) 13-0.

UPDATE  3/24/11:   Glenbrook North lost 3-2 in a shoot out to Southlake Carroll (TX).  New Trier won 8-4 over Plano West (TX).

UPDATE 3/25/11:   Glenbrook North defeated Long Beach (NY) 7-1 and has advanced to the single elimination playoff.  New Trier also advanced with a 12-4 victory over Arlington (NY).  Eight teams remain competing for the National Championship.

UPDATE 3/26/11:    Glenbrook North defeated Notre Dame (AZ) 4-3 to advance to the semifinals.  New Trier also won 7-1 and advanced.  Glenbrook North lost to New Trier 6-2 in Seminfinal later the same day.  New Trier will play Southlake Carroll (TX) for the National Championship on 3/27/11 at Edge AHAI.
